  3. 3

Grant Screen & System Audio Recording permission

  4. 4

    Click the menu bar shutter

Troubleshooting

If the first capture does not behave as expected

Most setup issues come from macOS permissions, protected content, or display arrangement.

Permission not showing

Quit and reopen ShutterDock, then check System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording.

Clipboard did not update

Try another capture after confirming ShutterDock is still running in the menu bar and has screen recording permission.

Black screenshot from protected content

Some protected video, banking, or DRM surfaces can intentionally block screenshot capture at the system level.

External display issue

Reconnect the display, confirm macOS display arrangement, and try a smaller region capture on the affected screen.
